Got someone you love staying at Nepean Hospital in Penrith? Sending flowers is one of the simplest ways to brighten their day when you can't be there in person — but a few hospital rules are worth knowing before you order, so your delivery actually reaches them.
Nepean Hospital Visiting Hours
General visiting hours at Nepean Hospital run from 10am to 8pm daily. Some wards have their own variations:
- Maternity Ward: 10am–12pm and 3pm–8pm
- Nepean Cancer Care Centre: visitors permitted throughout the day, two per bedside
- Grandparent visits: 11am–12pm and 6pm–8pm
If you're not sure which ward your person is in, it's worth a quick call to the hospital on (02) 4734 2000 to confirm timing before your flowers are set to arrive.
Can You Send Flowers to Every Ward?
Mostly yes — but not to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Flowers aren't permitted in ICU at all, as pollen and fragrance can be a genuine risk for patients with lung infections, asthma, or breathing difficulties. If your loved one is in ICU, consider a small gift, card, or balloon instead — we're happy to help with alternatives if you get in touch.
For general wards, flowers are welcome, though very strong-smelling varieties (like lilies) are sometimes better swapped for something gentler if the patient shares a room, since allergies and sensitivities vary. We're happy to recommend a gentler arrangement if you mention it when ordering.
Ordering Flowers for Nepean Hospital Delivery
Flower Empire delivers same-day to Nepean Hospital when you order by 12pm. Simply:
- Choose your arrangement on our Send Flowers page
- Add the patient's full name and ward in the delivery notes, if known
- We'll hand-deliver fresh, locally sourced blooms straight to the hospital
Since you can't always be there in person, we take extra care to make sure the arrangement looks just as beautiful on arrival as it did when it left our Glenbrook studio.
A Few Tips for Choosing Hospital-Appropriate Flowers
- Impactful arrangements fit better on a bedside table and delivering in a vase or vessel is better.
- Gentle, low-fragrance blooms are considerate in shared rooms
- A simple card message can mean just as much as the flowers themselves
Whatever the occasion — a new baby, a recovery, or just letting someone know you're thinking of them — we're here to help make sure your flowers arrive exactly when and how you hoped.
